The love of husband and wife is the force that welds society together.
— St. John Chrysostom
Couples preparing for marriage in the Catholic Church must attend a Pre-Cana workshop before their wedding. This workshop is an opportunity to reflect on the beauty of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony and to discuss some of the practical aspects of married life.
Saint Anselm Parish offers one Pre-Cana Workshop each year— scheduled in the Spring. The workshop consists of two events. The first part is a weeknight during which couples complete the FOCCUS Inventory, and the second part is a full Saturday of reflections, presentations, and engaging activities led by married couples. These two parts, taken together, satisfy the requirements for the Pre-Cana Workshop.
The topics covered during Pre-Cana include, but are not limited to:
The Sacrament of Matrimony
Family Living
Finances
Christian Sexuality
Communication
The Couple’s Role in the Church & Society
Engaged couples from any parish are welcome to attend Pre-Cana at Saint Anselm’s. The cost for the workshop is $100 per couple. The dates for our upcoming Spring 2020 workshop will be:
Tuesday, February 25, 2020 @ 6:30pm-9:15pm
(Spirituality Center – FOCCUS Inventory/Movie)
and
Saturday, March 7, 2020 @ 9am-5pm
