“Confirmation…is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds” (Catechism, 1316).
Students in Saint Anselm School grade seven and students in level seven CCD are confirmed. In the Spring Semester before Confirmation, students are instructed about Confirmation.
Academy Students: Any 7th grade student attending a private Catholic academy should contact the Parish Center because, although academy students receive their instruction at the academy, they receive Confirmation in their parish.
Jr.&Sr. High School Students: Any 7th thru 12th grade student who wishes to be confirmed should contact the Parish Center.
Adults to be confirmed: Any adult who has not been confirmed and wishes to be so, should contact the Parish Center.
Sponsors For Confirmation: Qualifications to be a sponseor at Confirmation are the same for those of a Catholic Godparent at Baptism.
Since the role of sponsor is to assist the parents in providing witness to the confirmandi, the sponsor is someone other than the parent.
Letter of Eligibility: Sponsors not from the parish where Confirmation is administered need a letter of eligibility from their parish.
