CCD - Religious Education (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) refers to a religious education program of the Catholic Church, normally designed for children.
The program is an opportunity for the children of Saint Anselm parishioners, who attend home, public or charter schools, to receive faith formation. These classes consist of classroom instruction, prayer, service, worship, and preparation for the reception of the Sacraments. The goal of the program is to enable and encourage the students to learn more about their faith, leading them to become better disciples of Jesus Christ. In the Saint Anselm CCD program, we recognize and embrace the role of parents as the primary catechists of their children. Our mission is to assist parents in forming their children in the Catholic tradition by providing sound catechesis and a meaningful experience of the Church.
***Saint Anselm will be conducting virtual CCD for the Fall 2020 Semester. Continue your child's religious education from the safety and convenience of your own home using Google Classroom, Zoom, and Formed.org. Registration forms are available HERE on our website and at the Parish Center.
A decision as to if the Spring 2021 Semester will be virtual or in person will be made in December.***
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CCD classes at Saint Anselm Church are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:45 PM to 8:00 PM, September through May.
There are 7 Levels (Grades) in CCD. Most Level 2 students will receive both First Penance and First Holy Communion. Level 7 Students will be given special instructions for Confirmation. We are not accepting Confirmation students this fall. Once a student has received Confirmation, the formal CCD program is considered complete for the student. Our Sacrament programs require a two-year commitment. Therefore, any child, regardless of age, must attend two years of formation before receiving any Sacrament.
Our teachers are all volunteers, and we are always grateful for anyone wishing to volunteer their time and talents to be a substitute or teacher’s aid. We are very proud of our program and are always looking for new and exciting ways to help our children learn about and experience the love of Christ. Our program is only successful because of the great help and attitude of our parents and volunteers.
The fee for the year is $125 per student. - (Early Registration before July 1st is $90.) Confirmation registrations are not being accepted this year. Fees include textbook fees. CCD Registration Form
St. Anselm Parish embraces all of its children regardless of special need or disability. We will make every effort to accommodate participants with special needs and provide them with an inclusive environment in our programs. Parents with children who have special needs should contact the program director prior to registration so that we may ensure proper and adequate support is in place before classes begin.
If you are a parishioner and your child attends a private Catholic elementary school (for example, Nazareth Academy Elementary), please remember that they do not perform the sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation must be performed by the parish at which you are registered.
Confirmation registrations are not being accepted this year..
